Studio Manager Hired!

April 30, 2008

Over the past few years we have grown rapidly and gotten very busy. It’s been really wonderful, and also crazy at times too! Geoff and I made the decision a few months ago that it was time to make a big leap and hire a full time Studio Manager, a brand new position for us. We’ve been searching for months for just the right person, and we have finally found her. Our new Studio Manager’s main role is to take care of our clients. We are really looking forward to offering even better customer service, being able to answer questions, the phone, email and such the same day, and handle some of the admin side of things so we can focus on being creative. I’ll tell you more about her soon. In the meantime, I’ve gotta get a whole new desk and office space set up!

Hillary Clinton at Merchant’s Exchange in San Francisco

April 23, 2008

Hillary Clinton made a stop in San Francisco recently to speak to supporters at a breakfast fundraiser held at the Julia Morgan Ballroom (also known as the Merchant’s Exchange Building). Geoff & I were honored to be invited to take photographs of the event. We got up at 4:30am yesterday morning to be there by 6:30am to scope out the entrance and photograph Hillary’s arrival at 7:30am. Secret Service wouldn’t tell us which entrance Hillary would be using, so we positioned ourselves in 2 different locations, and we waited. I staked out the lobby, while Geoff was in the ballroom to capture Hillary’s entrance into the room. I stood there for over 45 minutes, simply waiting. And then, all at once, some motorcycle policemen passed by the front entrance, followed by several black SUV’s. Mere moments later, Hillary was stepping into the elevator, having quietly (and quickly) snuck in through a back entrance. It was surreal. After a warm welcome from Janet Riley, the building owner (along with her husband Clint) Hillary took the stage to wild applause. I’m really excited about the upcoming election later this year. Hopefully Obama will visit the Merchant’s Exchange later this year & we’ll get to photograph that as well!

Lunch with Crystal from Amazae Special Events

April 10, 2008

Today Geoff & I took advantage of the gorgeous weather and went out for lunch with our friend Crystal from Amazae Special Events in downtown Mountain View at Minh’s a beautiful Vietnamese restaurant. The food was excellent, and the decor was very nicely done, sort of a contemporary lounge feel. I love good food, but to me, the aesthetics of the surroundings, the lighting and the presentation of the food is just as important as the food itself. I guess that’s why I love events so much!

Crystal is organizing this cool bridal show called Una Bella Sera at Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery. Casa Real is a brand new event space in Pleasanton, and apparently it’s super popular, and already has over 100 events booked there, even though it isn’t even open yet. Click on the link above to RSVP for the event, it’s going to be an amazing bridal event!

Baby Jayden

April 8, 2008

I recently had the pleasure of photographing our good friend Diana’s new baby Jayden. He is the cutest little guy…

Jayden smile

Look at those little baby toes!

Jayden double

Jayden had had enough of my camera I think…

Jayden grouchy

And my personal favorite…

Jayden high five

Diana & Mike enjoyed their newlywed time while they could, because now Jayden runs the show, and I think he knows it!

Engagement Session at Stanford with Brienne & Daniel

April 1, 2008

Brienne & Daniel chose Stanford for their engagement session, which was a great choice since that’s where it all started for them! Both Stanford grads, Brienne & Daniel shared some of their fond memories of their time on campus with us (something about the long standing tradition of fountain hopping kept coming up…) These two are getting married the at Flood Mansion in San Francisco in May:
