Wishing everyone a very happy New Year!

Wishing everyone a very happy New Year!
Kids are so much fun to photograph, we photographed Anna & Marcus for their holiday card this year. That was the one great shot of them together, after that it was a total tickle fest!

Look at those eyes, I LOVE this one. See how the scarf really sets it off? Flair is important, you gotta have some style!

Happy holidays from Emma (my Christmas gift 2 years ago) & her new little sister Sophie (Sophie is kind of Geoff’s dog, but she is growing on me)

Sophie is our newest addition to the family. She’s got a very spunky personality, and Emma has FINALLY warmed up to her!

Baby Jack has the most awesome personality, you can just tell he’s going to be very much the hipster when he gets older. Jack belongs to our friends Mike & Kara. We are having a lot of fun with portraits, as you can see…we’ll be available for portrait sessions starting again in late January…

We are officially closed for the holidays from December 18th-January 15th to spend time with our families and attend conferences in January. Nikki will still be in the office for a few days next week and back in early January. Enjoy the holidays & we’ll be back in touch in about a month!
This is Uncle Jimmy (from an earlier post) at his 90th birthday party. We took the opportunity to get some fun family portraits for the Marks family’s annual holiday card. I have been a little behind on my blog postings because we’ve been so busy with portrait sessions & holiday orders. We are doing portraits both on location & in the studio. I’ll be posting more as I can, but in the meantime, here are a few more to enjoy:

Can you believe this guy is 90????

A “Day in the Life” session is a unique opportunity to document an important time in your family’s life, showcasing personalities, the relationships and the day to day life. Sessions usually last a few hours & can include fun family activities such as going to the park, making cookies, story time and so forth. I recently had the pleasure of photographing two cuties Megan & Morgan. Megan’s been photographed before and loves the camera, as you can see.

This was Morgan’s first session, look at those big eyes:

They have a fantastic swing-set in their backyard, with a slide, swings and even a sand box!

I think it might be nap time…

Making waffles in the kitchen…

This session was so much fun to shoot, and really documents a moment in their lives while the girls are still small. They grow up so fast, next thing you know they’ll be graduating high school…

I am SO EXCITED for Christine & Tyler’s wedding day! This couple is so fun loving, romantic, and photogenic! Geoff & I had a total blast with them at Baker Beach recently. We were worried about the fog that day, but it actually added to the mood, which was great. Both Christine & Tyler make fantastic subjects, it’s always such a pleasure to photograph people who can be playful in front of the camera. This actually isn’t always as easy as it sounds, believe me! When I’m playing stand in for the couple while Geoff gets his settings worked out, in my mind I’m making all sorts of great expressions for the camera. I’m talking cute smiles, sexy pouts, silly faces (in my mind). And what do I see when I’m editing these images? Nothing but a completely blank (or confused) look on my face, every single time. Luckily for us, most of our couples are far better in front of the camera than me, and Christine & Tyler are especially photogenic. Here’s one of my favorites from their session:

I love how the sand/dirt color in the background compliments Christine’s gorgeous skin. I must admit, I wasn’t seeing Geoff’s vision when he picked out that spot…

They were very very brave for these images, and it paid off, I love the water swirling around them…
