Grooms are a focal piece to the wedding day and sometimes can be overlooked a bit.  But, we think they sure do look sharp in their suits and tuxedos and wanted to feature a post highlighting some best-dressed grooms we’ve encountered.  Men can have an equally fun time selecting accessories for their wedding look that can personalize their style a bit.  Everything from the boutonniere, style/color of the tie, type of suit, pins, and we’ve even seen unique cufflinks.  We hope you enjoy these handsome fellows attire and their groomsmen style as well!

A great way to personalize your male style is by the color of suit you select or your tie.  This is where men can have a lot of personal style added to their wedding day outfit.  We’ve seen everything from black, grey, and tan suits worn and can’t say one looks better over the other to our lens – it’s all just personal style and choice!  It is also important to think about how your outfit will blend on the wedding day itself. Are you getting married outdoors, in a natural setting? Maybe a less formal look is more appropriate.  Or, maybe you are getting married in a formal church and having a ballroom reception that might require a dressy suit or tuxedo.  It’s all relative to where you get married, the style of your wedding, and of course making sure your bride is having her dream day as well.

One of the cutest things at a wedding are seeing any children that are part of the wedding party all dressed up and walking down the aisle.  Equally cute are the pillows that adorn their hands as they walk towards the bride and groom.  Flowers, fabric, ribbon, buttons, stripes, embroidered…the sky is the limit when it comes to adorable ring bearer pillow ideas.

Details, Details, Details….that is what we all love about weddings.  Every couple’s ideas and inspiration for their wedding-scape is entirely different from the next and the details are where true personalities flare.  From the color, style, and product choices that couples pick there are endless ideas and inspiration out there to select from.  We love it all!

Since fall is here, and the holiday season is just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to put together a mix of some of our favorite green details for weddings.  You certainly can’t go wrong with green – it’s a staple color, timeless, and a neutral in the sense that it can be paired with almost any color and look amazing.  Rich hues of chocolate browns combined with the offset of a spruce green are just one of our favorite color combinations.  Green is a perfect accent color for the fall and the ideas of using this color are endless…Enjoy!

Susie and Chris are a fantastic couple that are getting married this fall and we were thrilled to get to work with them in the bride’s hometown of Danville.  Downtown Danville has such a warm and cozy charm about it that Lara, Chris, and Susie all instantly had a great time bringing this session to life.  Danville has some amazing outdoor areas and is known for some of their trees and Lara loved working in such a natural environment because the setting made for a gorgeous backdrop.

We can’t wait to see Chris and Susie’s wedding this fall and capture all of their special moments! Congratulations Chris and Susie!

Jennifer has been a fantastic bride to work with and she came to us last year with a clear vision of her special day.  She chose to have a bridal session, prior to her wedding, and spent some time recently with Kelvin to get familiar with his photography style as well as utilizing the gorgeous grounds of Villa Montalvo for her wedding day.  We love bridal sessions since they are so private and intimate with just the bride and it gives her a chance to get comfortable with the camera and see herself as she will look on her wedding day.  Jennifer really utilized all of the gorgeous areas of Villa Montalvo and had both an indoor and outdoor setting for various parts of the shoot.

Jennifer loved her images when were finished and said it was a great way to see how she would look on her wedding day from head to toe.  The bridal session gave her the option of putting any final touches to her bridal style, prior to the wedding day itself, and adjusting any fine details of her choice.  Of course, she looked so beautiful that we can’t imagine she would alter any of her bridal design.  Congratulations Jennifer!

Lace, beading, intricate edging work….the options when it comes to picking out the perfect veil for your wedding day are endless.  Traditionally, veils were used for hiding the identity of the bride but nowadays are used as a fashion statement and reflection of a bride’s style.  There are such a variety of veils available, and if a bride decides to wear one, we love to see what style the bride selects for her wedding day.  There are a splendid amount of different types of veils available these days:  mantilla veils, cathedral veils, chapel veils, visor veils, birdcage veils, blushers, and comb veils just to name some of them. All these different types of veils available present a wide variety in the length of the bridal veils as well from shoulder length, length up to the fingertip, elbow, knee length, floor length, and the to waist.  We thought we’d feature some of our beautiful bride’s veils as a piece of delicate inspiration for all of you planning your upcoming wedding!

Since we are in the prime time of wedding season currently, and we know brides are planning their every last detail, we thought it would be fun to display some of the beautiful hairstyles we’ve seen brides wear.   Every bride is clearly her own person, and has her own style, so isn’t it great to see how the same concept for a low chignon, braid, or bun can be made to fit each brides personal taste?    I love how stylists can weave the hair, high or low to the crown, and make such beautiful designs using hair.  Gorgeous!It is so exciting to see what a bride chooses to adorn her hair with when we first arrive the day of the wedding. It’s always a pleasant surprise to see if she has chosen flowers, clips, pins, jewels, diamonds, etc.   Veil or no veil.   The hair pin or flower really adds that personalized touch to the style and shows off each brides personal taste. It’s all so beautiful.  It’s also fun to see a bride incorporate their wedding design colors into their hairstyle in clever or creative ways to tie it all together.    Gorgeous style, ladies!

The wedding industry is a field full of so much talent, delight, and one-of-a-kind vendors, that it makes us love our work even more!  We are all so blessed to get the opportunity to do what we love and to work with such amazing clients.  I love working with Geoff White Photographers and have come across so many enchanting brides-to-be and love working with them to develop their wedding ideas even further.  The one question that I constantly am asked by clients is “Who do you recommend for makeup?” and it seems to be on every bride’s list of items to determine.   Knowing and trusting who we all work with is key to giving our clients the best wedding experience possible.I’ve gotten to know Geoff, Lara, and Kelvin quite well over the past year and am so thrilled to have developed such wonderful relationships and partnerships with them all.  I trust their work behind the lens just as they trust my work with a makeup palette and brush for my cosmetic company, Mirabelle. I am so excited to be teamed up with the Geoff White Group and offering professional makeup services to a variety of clients and various shoots!  A fairytale fantasy come true for me and I can’t wait to work with brides this season for engagement sessions, bridal portraits, and weddings to create beautiful and timeless makeup designs!

After a beautiful ceremony at the River of Life Church, Kai and Douglas met with guests at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay for their wedding reception. The very talented Frances Liu, of Charmed Events, helped orchestrate and manage their reception and all the details.  They used a color theme of chocolate brown with neutral accents of white and cream for an elegant setting that moved from the church to the reception. They also used lighting to create a dramatic and moody reception room that set the tone for pure elegance. Crackled glass holding candles, mixed lush neutral floral arrangements, and personalized menus set the tone for a gorgeous reception.  Kai and Douglas incorporated red favors into the scheme as well adding a touch of color.  Lace table runners adorned the tables for even more elegance and custom designed table cards helped guests to find their seat.  Kai changed her gowns a few times throughout the even and was breathtaking in a silk red gown she rented from Taiwan.  Douglas played a song for his bride, as a gift, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.  All and all,  Kai and Douglas had a gorgeous event that was elegant and timeless.  Congratulations Kai & Doug!
