Susan — LOVE your new signature!   ( January 21, 2010 @ 12:33 pm )

lara — thank you! Elena helped me create that for the blog, mainly so readers would know "the voice" of the blog is actually me, and not Geoff. Looking forward to seeing you soon...very soon!   ( January 21, 2010 @ 12:35 pm )

Countdown to My Favorite Day of the Year!

October 1, 2009
Halloween is my very favorite holiday of the year. Geoff and I are known among all our friends for our Halloween parties. They are so time and labor intensive though, we only throw them every few years, but when we do it’s huge. This year we might be heading to a big costume party in a castle in wine country that Justin Fone told me about. I need to figure out my costume! I love doing couples costumes. Last year we went as Cleopatra and Julius Caesar. The year before that it was Jack and Sally Skellington. Lisa Leigh did a great Geisha girl costume for one of our parties a few years ago.  Clients and friends Catherine and Rico came as a sexy cop and inmate. That was pretty cute!

Anyways, back to my costume. I need something really original this year. Please help me find the best costume, and send in your suggests and comments. This is a big deal to me, so I am counting on you to choose the best costume for me. Take a look online here and send me your vote (something hot please!). Make me look good!

Tina — I remember you loved the Twilight books, so what about the Gothic Vampira?   ( October 1, 2009 @ 11:00 pm )

lara — Hmm, that's a good idea! I checked out the costume, and it looks warm, which is a huge bonus for me, I get cold pretty easily. But do you think I can get Geoff in a vampire costume?   ( October 1, 2009 @ 11:04 pm )

Sonny — If you are going to be original, you definitely will not purchase an off-the-shelf "sexy bat seductress" costume that every woman has bought in the last few years. I suggest doing a google search on Halloween parties/costume ideas where someone has a great costume you can't buy at the store. That is the only way you'll stand out.   ( October 2, 2009 @ 4:04 pm )

lara — good point Sonny! I remember going to a Halloween party once and there were these oopma loompas (from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) that was the most original costume idea I'd seen in a long time.   ( October 2, 2009 @ 6:04 pm )

Sonny — Two years ago I saw an LA party, and there were a bunch of men in Cobra Kai gi's. As a guy, I thought this was the coolest idea. After some research, I realized you couldn't buy this costume in a store (at the time). So I looked on ebay, and to my luck someone made a costume they no longer needed. Wife didn't think it would be a hit, but it definitely was in North Beach area last year. What you have to do is perform a google search for couple costume ideas. Once you find one, you need to cross reference well known Halloween costume stores. If they don't have it, try ebay to see if someone made that outfit. You might get lucky, and avoid the hassle of making a costume for the both of you.   ( October 5, 2009 @ 9:30 am )

Hilary & Jeff’s Villa Montalvo wedding featured in the Knot!

July 30, 2009

Congratulations to Hilary & Jeff, their GORGEOUS wedding at  Villa Montalvo is featured in the newest issue of the Knot Northern California. Their wedding style was simple and elegant with fun twists that pulled everything together and made it personal. For example, they gave out little jars of honey to their guests as wedding favors, since Hilary’s grandparents were beekeepers. Instead of a cake, they opted for the most delicious cupcakes I’ve ever seen! Little things like a personalized aisle runner with their initials and date really added a splash of color without breaking the bank. Pick up an issue to read more!

Mother of the Bride, Mother of the Groom, an event for you!

July 10, 2009

Our friend and colleague Kathy Goodman of Well Rehearsed has  partnered with Neiman Marcus to design a fashion event for MOMS. This event is specifically for Mothers-of-the-Bride & Groom to help them in selecting their rehearsal dinner & wedding day attire. Kathy says “I typically find that moms have such a difficult time finding “just the right dress.” So we wanted to create a special event just for them.” What a treat!
