| Halloween is my very favorite holiday of the year. Geoff and I are known among all our friends for our Halloween parties. They are so time and labor intensive though, we only throw them every few years, but when we do it’s huge. I need to figure out my costume! I love doing couples costumes. Last year we went as Cleopatra and Julius Caesar. The year before that it was Jack and Sally Skellington. Lisa Leigh did a great Geisha girl costume for one of our parties a few years ago. Clients and friends Catherine and Rico came as a sexy cop and inmate. That was pretty cute!
Anyways, back to my costume. I need something original this year. It’s time to retire the Cleopatra costume. Please help me find the best costume, and send any ideas or suggests. Take a look online here and send me your vote (something hot please!). What are you going to be this year?!? P.S. If you like this countdown to Halloween widget, you can add it to your facebook page by clicking “get & share” on the bottom. It also goes directly to a huge costume store. Halloween is coming right up, so get on it! |

I remember you loved the Twilight books, so what about the Gothic Vampira?
Hmm, that’s a good idea! I checked out the costume, and it looks warm, which is a huge bonus for me, I get cold pretty easily. But do you think I can get Geoff in a vampire costume?
If you are going to be original, you definitely will not purchase an off-the-shelf “sexy bat seductress” costume that every woman has bought in the last few years. I suggest doing a google search on Halloween parties/costume ideas where someone has a great costume you can’t buy at the store. That is the only way you’ll stand out.
good point Sonny! I remember going to a Halloween party once and there were these oopma loompas (from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) that was the most original costume idea I’d seen in a long time.
Two years ago I saw an LA party, and there were a bunch of men in Cobra Kai gi’s. As a guy, I thought this was the coolest idea. After some research, I realized you couldn’t buy this costume in a store (at the time). So I looked on ebay, and to my luck someone made a costume they no longer needed. Wife didn’t think it would be a hit, but it definitely was in North Beach area last year. What you have to do is perform a google search for couple costume ideas. Once you find one, you need to cross reference well known Halloween costume stores. If they don’t have it, try ebay to see if someone made that outfit. You might get lucky, and avoid the hassle of making a costume for the both of you.
My favorite costume was the year I was a hershey bar when I was 12. I don’t know what ever happened to that costume. I miss those good old homemade costumes!
I always wanted to make myself one of those phone book costumes when I was a kid, I thought those looked so cool!
Your costumes are always great! I look forward to seeing what you do every year.
thanks Susan! How about you, what do you have in store for this year? I still crack up when I remember the “Lady Pirate” guy from last year!
The “Lady Pirate” was awesome! That guy is hilarious. I don’t have anything sexy planned for sure, but I think it will be creative, if it turns out okay….we’ll see. It’ll be comfortable. My favorite OLD SKOOL Nuvation costume is when Chris went as a stud, as in a giant wooden board and he was inside. Secretly, I made a costume as a Stud Finder.
