I was thrilled to photograph the rehearsal dinner for Alison and David & their families the evening before the wedding. It was an amazing party in a breathtakingly beautiful setting!

I met with the families about 30 minutes prior to the start of the party so I could capture some casual family portraits. We also squeezed in a 10 minute photo session for Alison & David. Since they live on the East Coast, we had not had an opportunity to do an engagement session, so we took advantage of being in a gorgeous setting.

With such a beautiful space, there was no need for lots of decor. Blue tablecloths to match the gorgeous sky, and sunflowers everywhere. Classic!

The wine flowed, and people were definitely relaxed and enjoying themselves. It was a really nice evening.

Guests arrived in waves, being brought over from Half Moon Bay on shuttles. I could hear people exclaiming how beautiful the setting was as soon as they arrived.

Rehearsal dinners are so nice because they give your guests an opportunity to relax and mingle. And the bride and groom has a chance to relax right along with them, so the next day at the wedding, there’s no pressure to say stop by each table, as you have already had a chance to converse with everyone.

As a photographer, I love rehearsal dinners because I get a chance to be with the crowd and get a sense for who’s who. So I feel much more familiar with everyone on the wedding day, and chances are I’ve already captured a couple of nice shots of them.

Are they not the sweetest couple or what?!?

The setting was just gorgeous. Gorgeous! I’m definitely going to have to photograph a wedding there soon!
